Dorothy Mae Hauser
August 21, 2010

Dorothy Mae Hauser, 99, of Hot Springs died on Saturday, August 21, 2010 in a local hospital. She was born on October 24, 1910 in Wapello, Iowa to the late Frank and Mary Oshaunessy Browning. She was a member of the Oaklawn United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Women of the Moose Chapter #1660 in Iowa. She was a retired button maker with a Button Shop in Iowa.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clyde Hauser, seven sisters and one brother.

Survivors include her sister, Bessie Corder of Muscatine, Iowa, a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Hot Springs Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. in Greenwood Cemetery with Reverend Fred Hunter officiating.

 
 
Shirley D. Jeffries
August 20, 2010

Shirley D. Jeffries, 85, of Hot Springs died Friday, August 20, 2010. She was born November 14, 1924 in Mishawaka, Indiana and raised at Poplar Bluff, Missouri by her parents Albert and Eva Frank.

Shirley graduated from Western Union School in 1943. She has been a member of Central Baptist Church since moving to Hot Springs in 1946. Shirley was a homemaker and caregiver, as well as employed with K-Mart from 1963 until 1978. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Thomas Pool Jr. who was killed in 1945 during World War II; her husband of 53 years, Harrell “Noie” Jeffries and by a daughter, Becky Jeffries.

Shirley is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Joe Walker from Little Rock; one brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Mary Lou Frank from Springfield, Missouri; three grandsons, Chris Cole, Troy (Teddie) Cole and David Cole; two great grandchildren, Sarah and Will Cole and three step great grandchildren, Cullen, Katie and Hannah Walker.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Monday, August 23, 2010 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Reverend William Harris officiating.

Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Hot Springs Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Chris Cole, Troy Cole, David Cole, Will Cole, Buddy Midkiff and Duke Walker.

 
 

Bill Rollins
August 20, 2010

William Duane “Bill” Rollins, 70, of Owensville passed away peacefully Friday, August 20 with his loving wife of 29 years by his side. He was born on August 29, 1939 to the late Clifford and Hazel Wood Rollins in Bath NH. He was an Army veteran and was of the Baptist faith.

He was predeceased by his three brothers, Amos, Roland and Charles St. Peters.

Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Tyler Rollins of Owensville, daughter and son-in-law, Lydia and Nathan Petersen and two grandchildren, Tommy and Katie all of Beebe, AR.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Millie Therrin of Vermont, and Pat and H.L. Irby of Hensley, AR, two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Georgetta Cates and Sandy and Brady Covey all of Hot Springs.

Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Hot Springs Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. in the Owensville Baptist Church with Brother Herbert Watts officiating. Burial will be in Owensville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brady M. Covey, Scott Hulsey, Todd Beckwith, Kevin Beckwith, Darin Beckwith and Jesse Long.

Honorary pallbearers will be Archie, Gene, James, Richard, Tom and Chuck Beckwith, Wayne and Kathy James and the Doctors and staff of Saline Memorial Hospital ICU.

Memorials may be made to the Owensville Cemetery Association

 
 
Daniel Ray Farmer
August 18, 2010

Daniel Ray Farmer, 52, of Hot Springs passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010. He was born December 6, 1957 to the late Virginia Irene Knoll Farmer and Joe Leo Farmer in Hot Springs.

Daniel graduated from Hot Springs High in 1976; worked for Coca Cola Bottling Company for 35 years; was a member of Tower of Strength Ministries and the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include two brothers, Joe Dale Farmer of Booneville and John Farmer of Hot Springs; one sister, Virginia Farmer Girard of Malvern and many friends.

Memorial services will be 12:00 PM Thursday, August 25th at Hot Springs Funeral Home with Brother Jim Frazier officiating.

 
 
Merelee Sibert
August 16, 2010

Merelee Sibert passed away Monday, August 16th. She was born on July 25, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Henry Siegerdt and Marie Boldebuck Siegerdt and was a resident of this area for 29 years. Merelee was a member of First United Methodist Church and a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Ed Sibert and two brothers, Robert and Chuck Siegerdt.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Ken Krabbe of Hot Springs, three
step-grandchildren and 5 step-great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, Humphrey’s Chapel at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Carl Ownbey officiating.

Interment will be in Pencil Bluff Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Caring Place, First United Methodist Church or Lakewood Convalescent Home.

 
 
Judith Ann Burton
August 7, 2010

Judith Ann Burton, 67, of Hot Springs, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 7, 2010. Judy was born in Postville, Iowa to Kenneth Albert Holly and Helen Marie (Trappe) Holly. Judy is survived by her father Kenneth Holly and her sister Nancy Holly Steinke of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Judy is also survived by her son Clayton Burton, his wife Sharon Smallwood Burton and Judy's only grandchild Brooke Elizabeth Burton of Brandon, MS. Judy was preceded in death by her grandparents, her mother, and her son Kent.

Judy graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with many honors. She was active in the American Red Cross and worked as a lifeguard for several summers. Judy attended the University of Iowa and married Lynn Burton. They had two sons, Clayton and Kent.

In Hot Springs, Judy worked for twenty years as a legal secretary for John Parkerson and supported the Hot Springs Country Club Board for thirty years. Before retiring, Judy worked for the Salvation Army as a case worker.

Judy was an active member of the Preceptor Epsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi since 1970 and holds their Masters Degree, the Order of the Rose and Silver Circle distinctions. Judy held all offices at the Chapter and City Council levels. Other sorority honors included being the Valentine Queen and Woman of the Year on several occasions. Beta Sigma Phi was an important part of Judy's life.

Judy was artistic, talented, and most of all had a great sense of humor. She loved her family and friends who also loved her dearly. She will be missed forever.

Judy asked that her family not hold a formal funeral. Instead she asked that her family arrange a gathering to celebrate her life. The details of this gathering will be announced at a future date.

Contributions in Judy's honor can made to the Ouachita Children's Center in Hot Springs.

 
 
James E. Jenkins
August 6, 2010

James E. Jenkins, 80, of Benton died on Friday, August 6, 2010 at his home. He was born on September 21, 1929 in Oxford, Mississippi to the late Lonnie and Lora Low Jenkins. He was a member of the American Legion in Little Rock, a World War II Army veteran, a retired truck driver and was of the Baptist faith.

He was predeceased by his wife, Katherine “Kitty” Jenkins and three sisters, Marie Keller, Zola Williams and Mary Hughes.

Survivors include two sisters and one brother-in-law, Martha Adams of Indiana and Shirley and George Terral of Pearcy, Arkansas.

There will be no services.

 
 
Mary Castle
August 5, 2010

Mary Castle, 84, of Hot Springs passed away, Thursday, August 5, 2010 at her home. She was born August 10, 1925.

She was retired with Kroger, a member of UFCW Union International and was of Baptist faith.

She was predeceased by her husband, Dorman Castle, Sr; son, Louis Childers; brother, Otis Paulsgrove and her parents, Otis & Grace Paulsgrove.

Survivors include her two sons, Warren Childers, Dorman (Bo) Castle; grandchildren, Heather Drake, Kimberly Castle, Carol Childers, Whitney Childers, Kelly Young, Melissa Childers, Linda Chambless, Brandon Childers, Joey Childers, Danny Childers, Wendy Childers and many great grandchildren.

Her fondest memories are going to Deer camp with family & friends.

Special thanks to Dr. Divers and members of Genesis Cancer Center.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, Alabama Hospice or D.A.V.

Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Price Cemetery, with a visitation 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday at Hot Springs Funeral Home.

The family will be at her home.

 
 
Ludmila "Millie" Hart
August 4, 2010

On Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 7:37 p.m., our beloved Ludmila "Millie" Hart passed away in her home with her daughter Ludmila Filipek at her bedside. Millie was born on February 12, 1926 to Sidonia and Samuel Fleischhaker in Modra, Czechoslovakia. At 18, she married Augustin Polak and had 2 surviving children. In 1971, she moved to Chicago and found work as a CNA at Bohemian Nursing Home. This job was her passion and she gave so much loving care to her patients. She retired 20 years later then moved to Hot Springs. In 1995, she married her last husband William Hart who she referred to as her "soul mate." He passed away in 2000 and she spent the final years of her life living with her daughter Ludmila.

Millie's family include her daughter Ludmila "Millie" Filipek of Hot Springs, her son Milan Polak, (Eva) of Slovakia, grandchildren Monica John of Wisconsin, Victor Filipek of Illinois, Eric Filipek of Illinois, Andrea Coffaro of Illinois, also Milan, Peter and Martina Polak of Slovakia, and ten great grandchildren, also surviving are cousins, Frederick and Rose Tornil and their children, Martin and Daniel and a sister-in-law, Astrid Anderson with nephew, Brian.

Special thanks go out to Danny Dancuo for his caring, friendship and moral support and to Anka Dancuo, neighbors Ray and Anne Hood for their caring and giving kindness. Thanks to First Luthern Church members for their many years of joy, love, support and prayers.

Pallbearers will be Eric Filipek, Victor Filipek, Kenny Allen, Ray Hood, Marvin Hanson and Dr. Jeremy John.

Visitation starting at 1 PM and service at 3 PM will be held at Hot Springs Funeral Home on Monday with Pastors Dan McDougal and Amos Gray from First Lutheran Church officiating.

Burial will be in Morning Star Cemetery.

Millie will be greatly missed, but we will hold her dear in our hearts forever.

 
 
Wayne R. Livingston
August 3, 2010

Wayne R. Livingston, 52, of Royal passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010. He was born September 23, 1957 in Hot Springs to the late George & Inez Livingston.
He was a Shipping Manager with Wycott and member of AMLA.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Livingston; two daughters, Pasha (John) Murphy of Royal ; Jennifer ( Jay) Rhodes of Hot Springs; two brothers, Eddie ( Robin) Livingston of Hot Springs, Ken Livingston; sister Robin (Kenneth) Whiley of Hot Springs; three grandchildren, Paige Hoover, Blythe Christensen ,Keegan Murphy and many nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1:00 P.M. Friday at Hot Springs Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jim Freeman officiating.

Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 Thursday at Hot Springs Funeral Home
